Sixth week check up

Filed under: The Beginning — WiseDad @ 2:44 pm

Little Peanut is growing up so fast.  She had her six week check up and seems to be on course with common milestones like smiling, cooing, following objects, focusing, lifting her head and of course stinky farts.  We are developing more routine and feeding less at night and more during the day.  Diaper changes usually happen after each feeding and as needed.  As I mentioned last post there is a good relationship between Peanut and her sucky.

This past weekend was full of firsts for Peanut.  She had her first road trip back home, her first bar visit and her first boat ride.  While at home she got to meet friends and family that have not already been out to see her.  All-in-all it was a good long weekend at home and the lake.

The pediatrician told us to start playing music, specifically Mozart and Bach and the like.  There have been studies conducted that show increased math skills in children who were exposed to classical music.  So Ludwig van Beethoven will be filling our house for several years to come.  I will research the studies a little further and post a summary at a later date.

Week 2-3-4 and 5

Filed under: The Beginning — WiseDad @ 8:58 pm

Ha!  Where did the time go?  Little peanut is now over ten pounds and getting more vocal by the day.  Her sucky is a new best friend to her and to us as we introduced it around 3weeks.  Which is a little early but she was feeding well and “nipple confusion” was not really a concern and she had been falling asleep on the nip.

We bought a Nikon D40 SLR camera to capture some moments and freeze time.  So far it has turned out to be a good entry level camera for us and I would definately recommend it to anyone interested in exploring photography.  I will add this camera to the gadgets category with more details at a later date.

I am going to be changing some of the things on this site, mostly cosmetic and a little in the way the content is laid out.  More frequent posts will begin in the next week or so.  That will give me enough time to settle into a routine with the peanut.

Back soon!
